Error on adding resource for different resolutions

    When I add resolution in asset properties, first time I add, it works fine but when I add second resolution it throws this error:
    Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties.

  • @Saman I haven't been able to reproduce this error. Can you walk me through each step taken before getting this error? Also is it possible to include a small screen shot?
  • I'm using windows version 0.9.8 Build 568

    - Open Asteroids Game from examples
    - Select one of the assets (like Gun_ship.png)
    - In asset properties click on resolution tab
    - Add resolution, select scale, and select a file then open
    - Add another resolution, select scale, boom...

    My Gbs is stuck on splash page after install. I tried to uninstall it and install another version but didn't work.

    How can I fix it?

  • @Saman this just happened with the new build? Another user just reported this earlier.
  • It happens with all versions.

    I think it's happening because install/uninstall is not able to remove/overwrite all traces on windows including files and registries.
  • @Saman so does this just happen the first time you run a new build and then goes away or are you not able to run GBs at all right now?

    Also can you please send in your installation log file that can be found here: C:\Users\[CURRENT USER]\AppData\Roaming\GameBuilderStudio\Local Store\
  • I'm not able to run GBs at all.

    There is no file in that directory.
  • @Saman this sounds strange, you were running GBs just yesterday correct? I am working on getting a new build out.
  • Yes, yesterday the other build could start correctly

  • @Lavon I was able to run the game again.

    - First I uninstalled last version and removed GBS folders from "Program Files" and "AppData\Roaming".
    - Then installed the free version of GBS (v0.9.7_build-544) then GBs free was working fine
    -  Finally I installed the latest pro version and selected replace.

    Note: When I installed and ran GBs free, it started to extract the files again which wasn't working on other versions)

    Adding resource is working fine now.
  • I have another issue:

    When I deploy the app on my tablet, game stays on splash screen and doesn't go to game view.
    This happens when on project setting I set the screen scaling mode on "Full screen Multi-Resolution scaling" or "Full screen Zoom Scaling - No Edge". (No scaling works fine on device)
    I have checked all selected resolutions and have added all different resolutions in asset manager.

    Any idea why it's not working?

  • @Saman a new build is on the way that should fix this. If it doesn't resolve your issue send in your project zipped up so we can debug it.
  • @Lavon When I select any fullscreen scaling mode on publish setting and check any resolution other than 1x, I get this error and can't publish the game. I'm using GBs pro v0.9.8 build-586

  • @Saman it looks like the 3x asset for the image called pipe.png is missing. Make sure if you select all resolutions that all your image assets have all the required resolutions attached otherwise you will get a build error. You can look in your assets panel and see little warning icon next to the asset that is the offender.

    And resolution issue is fixed on GBs 0.9.8 build-590 pro.
